The ego is a system of thoughts, beliefs, and feelings that seems to have us collectively in its grip. It has many tools at its disposal, some of which you may recognise… Unforgiveness, blaming, power over others, fear, control, judgment, rage, and of course shame.
Shame is the ultimate painful story. It has us believe at the core of our being that there is something wrong with us. It whispers and sometimes shouts that we’re not good enough. It tells us we’re bad, we’re broken, and that we don’t deserve love, because we’re worthless. When we feel this way, it seems as though there is plenty of evidence to prove it – every harsh word we hear, every criticism, betrayal, or abandonment we experience.
In this workshop, we will be gently shining the light on the workings of the ego and shame and exploring how they can be transformed and released through the self-compassion & forgiveness process. We will:
-Gain a deeper understanding of what the ego is, and how to identify it in our lives.
-Gain a deeper understanding of what shame is, and its impact if left unattended.
-Look at how the self-compassion and forgiveness journey helps us to release shame and ego from our life bringing a new sense of freedom, peace, and love.
The workshop will be facilitated by Helen Tanner – Creative Psychotherapist & Healer specialising in guided self-compassion & forgiveness journeys. helentanner.com
