‘When we give ourselves compassion, we are opening our hearts in a way that can transform our lives.’ Kristin Neff
?? Forgiveness literally means to ‘give away’.
It is a process of releasing feelings, beliefs, thoughts, blame, victimhood, the past, and suffering, in order to experience freedom, peace, and love.
But just how do we ‘release these things?’ ?‍♀️
Often we imagine that we are just goingto ‘drop them or ‘put them down” like we would a heavy box we’ve been carrying. Or, we are going to ignore them, hoping they will go away in time.?
But ‘release’ in the forgiveness context is a little different and often involves shining a light onto the parts of ourselves that have been cast into shadow, and are being fed by darkness. ? ☀️
? The light we cast is that of self-compassion and has the quality of love, gentleness, and courage to sit with, listen to, and see our suffering clearly.
? It is with the help of the light, that the remarkable healing transformation of forgiveness occurs.
☀️ In this Livestream, on Wednesday 9th December at 7p.m (UK time) we will be exploring the subject of self-compassion, what it is, and how it helps us to transform our suffering with the forgiveness process.
